THE COMIC'S PLOTLINE...
This is the story of Agnor and Seblue, two young warriors from the city of Levwyn. They hope to put an end to the invasion of demons, by killing the Demon King and destroying The Wheels of Apocalypse...

FORMAT & LENGTH...
This Comic will be 3 Chapters long.
It is intended as a short One-Shot, meaning it won't go on forever, nor will it span multiple storylines and new characters on every 2nd page :D
Projected Length: 50-60 pages.

A GLOSSARY OF IMPORTANT ITEMS AND LOCATIONS...
Night Sun:
A magical item often worn on a chain. If the token touches a person's skin, it makes him invisible to demons. And in turn, he cannot see the demons either. It is worn after sundown by anyone who needs to walk outside, where the demons roam freely. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford a Night Sun, for magical artefacts are very pricey.
Obsidian Canticle:
The name of a necromantic spell. It can bring a dead person back to life for the period of one night. The resurrected being becomes fully mortal again, regaining all the attributes of his former life. At dawn the spell ends and the resurrected soul goes back to the afterlife. Also if the revived being kills the wizard who cast the spell, the magic will cease immediately sending the creature back to death. Because it is impossible to predict the temperament and intentions of a revived individual, wizards dislike using this spell.
Morg-Arisk:
The gate of the demon world. The monsters cross it each time they pass into human territories. The name translates to "Broken Reality" in English.
Dream Collapse:
A rare type of dream that transports the dreamer into the afterlife. It is caused by a dead soul who is very strong in magical powers and can draw a sleeping person's psyche to him. Usually the dead person has an important message to convey to the living. It is called a Dream Collapse because it puts the dreamer into a coma for 3 days following its manifestation.

THE COMIC'S ORIGIN...
I came up with the idea for this comic in February/March 2006. I was listening to A Slumber Did My Spirit Seal by Draconian (you can listen to the song here!) and everything fell in place in my imagination: the characters, their motives and their fates. I wrote all my ideas down and did some sketches and drawings in 2006. Due to other projects, The Obsidian Canticle had to wait on the side for a few months. I returned to it in April 2007, prepared its website and started putting the pages online in May/June 2007.
Oh, and when I got the idea for the comic, I was nursing one of our saffron finches who had a leg injury. I was very worried for him and I intentionally added the "prophetic birds" into the comic, to channel my angst (and fear of the furure) into something creative… In the comic the birds are the oracle's friends and although she'd like to be free of her divinations, she has a dependency to them and can't let them go… And that's our psychology session for today :p

SPECIAL THANKS...
To the ghost of William Wordsworth who has guided this project with great (and creepy) synchrony. (Agnor isn't the only one who puts his trust in dead people. Yikes.) Learn more about the great poet here
